Opportunities

Postdoctoral Associate positions available in the Jiang Lab to study the function of ADAR1 RNA editing in cancer stem cells

The candidate is expected to learn and perform molecular assays and functional experiments using cell lines, patient-derived organoids, and xenograft mouse models. These will include gene regulation by lentiviral system, live cell confocal imaging, single cell RNAseq of sorted cancer stem cells and sophisticated genetic manipulation using CRISPR/Cas. Collaborations with clinicians and bioinformatic experts are also expected.

Candidate’s responsibilities:

  • Independently design and perform experiments and procedures
  • Demonstrate ability to adapt methods according to project priorities
  • Provide independent experimental design and planning
  • Be able to analyze and interpret data from different sources and draw relevant conclusions
  • Be able to present results and accurately document experiments
  • Contribute to writing of reports and manuscripts
  • Work collaboratively across lab functions within the Jiang group and with other collaborators.

The candidate is expected to have solid experimental and academic background (Ph.D. or M.D. degree(s)) in molecular biology and mouse model experience. Previous experience in bioinformatics and/or regulation of RNA processing is a plus but not required. Excellent written and oral communication is required in this collaborative environment. Competitive Salary and benefit will be provided, commensurate with experience. Highly motivated and passionate applicants are encouraged to apply.
